K-12 Field Trips

The UA Poetry Center offers field trips for 4th-12th grade students, which center our current Brave Books theme, ¡Cuentos del Mundo!

Field trips are free and available on Fridays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

For standard field trips, we're able to accommodate up to twenty students per trip. We have a cap of ten field trips per semester, so we encourage interested teachers to apply early. A standard field trip is 1-1.5 hours.

When possible, we can also welcome larger groups for field trips. These field trips require special planning, advance notice, and are not always available. Reach out to Eva Sierra at emsierra@arizona.edu to learn more about special offerings.

To request a field trip:

1) Download the form at the bottom of this page, or view it here.

 2) Fill it out completely.

3) Email it to pceducation@arizona.edu. Photos or scans are accepted.

Preparing students for a visit to the Poetry Center is important. This prep sheet will help you and your students get the most out of the experience. Note that we require field trips to be requested at least 4 weeks in advance, as well as at least a 24-hour notice for cancellations when possible.

For questions about K-12 field trips, contact Education Programs Assistant Eva Sierra at pceducation@email.arizona.edu.

Not in Tucson, or not able to make a field trip to the Poetry Center? Check back in September for virtual field trip offerings and lesson plans themed after Brave Books: ¡Cuentos del Mundo!
